I agree with you, Duane, but this looks different to me. As has been pointed out on numerous occasions, humans ARE emotional and make judgements based on emotion and then try to justify with logic. I don't believe Kristi Noem has such poor political judgement as to add this story to her book and not know what was going to happen. Two things are true: we DO react emotionally and Americans LOVE our dogs. Both sides of the aisle, we fucking love dogs and everyone knows this. So I'm considering the possibility that Noem was given the option to take herself out politically and took that deal. Q told us to watch when we saw Republicans deciding to retire and that it meant they were put into submission. Noem didn't announce she was retiring but this may end up with the same result. I could be wrong on this but it is where my head went first and that's as someone who actually likes Kristi Noem. Also, as a side note, I live in Montana and work on a ranch and know quite a few farmers and ranchers. Pretty much everyone has working dogs and they do all love them like family and often have dogs that suck at their jobs along with the good ones. Killing chickens is unfortunate and also totally common. A lot of people in rural areas don't control their dogs enough and sometimes its the dogs who get shot by neighbors. It's just a constant issue in the country. Not saying either way what Kristi Noem should have done with her dog but I do think it's a-typical for a farmer or rancher to simply treat their working dogs as tools. We're human and we get attached.
