Your article is very well researched & accurate. I live on the Big Island of Hawaii (same name as the state), just east of Maui, a 35 minute flight if you can go direct.
Needless to say, we have been in mourning over the loss of life, as most of us have family & friends across the state. I have Hawaiian blood, so I take this attack on my people with extreme anger. The failure of every government agency is Damn Suspicious.
The Maui county drew up lawsuits against Hawaiian Electric before the investigation was over. The utility company was not responsible, records prove they turned the power off after the first fires were 100% contained, so I believe Clif-hi ‘s theory of the DEWs energizing the power lines.
What’s really suspicious for me, is the fact that multiple fires, approx in 5 different locations broke out on my island the same day & next day, which never happened in my lifetime, and in one fire they almost caught the arsonist after finding the incendiary device at the sight. We have high winds all the time in these areas and occasionally a single fire breaks out from careless people, but NOT 5 fires within 24 hrs, looks like arson to me.
Our Hawaii county policemen flew to Maui to assist 3 days after the fires and were astonished at all the peculiarities and randomness of the fire, cars in perfect condition right next to cars totally incinerated, and the same for structures, their statements came out in our local paper.
A community meeting was held in Honolulu, in which Governor Green, made a short speech, then exited like a stinking coward. Gov Green was hinting of taking the land for the state just a week after the fires happened. They discussed relocating the victims. So the Hawaiians are LOUDLY FIGHTING the corrupt officials & my feel is they got the support of the people, but these politicians are known to railroad us.
We got this patriot, his handle is Hawaii Real Estate from Maui who is relentless in exposing what happened, posting on YouTube, love the guy.
Here’s a link to an article by our local newspaper paper covering the first state government meeting in which Hawaii residents loudly voiced their concerns over the Lahaina fires. The state officials got an earful and are on notice as the people are challenging the legal authority of this housing panel & pressing them to serve the people with aloha.
Duane,
Thank you for your heartfelt article.
