Dearest Duane. Just today I nearly went down in H‑E‑B. I’ve never fainted and fought it as I held onto the checkout for dear life. I had allowed myself to become seriously dehydrated. So I hear ya - I definitely need to pay better attention. I’m so very glad to see you blogging, to know you’re home, and that you’ll be joining your brother. (After the hurricane, okay? 😂).
I’m happy to hear your good news report. I hadn’t heard anything since Awakened Outlaw posted your situation. Best of everything with your move and health. A lot of us (me) are guilty of self diagnosis and care to our chagrin and detriment. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way. So many rebels do! Send updates when you can. Many blessings.
Brent, I’ve been following your brother for years, for a while he was one of very few voices that was making sense of the world. Glad you are following him now too! May God bless your move to Lakeland (after Milton passes!)
Your symptoms sounded so much like my father’s debilitating illness that I was almost waiting for the sentence where you would tell us that the diagnosis you were given was pulmonary fibrosis. All I can say is thank goodness it wasn’t that, and instead something that was both remedied quickly and, god willing, permanently.
You potentially have many valuable and enjoyable years remaining and I’m sure that with help from your brother, friends and professionals when needed, small improvements to your health and physicality will make a world of difference, and all for the better.
My father lived 85 years without ever spending a night in a hospital bed, but then ‘something’ (mmm, maybe yes, maybe no?) happened around 2.5 years ago and his struggles with breathing began. Slowly at the beginning but gradually his condition deteriorated. He was frustratingly bed ridden from July of this year, and in early August began receiving home visits 4 times daily from an amazing team of NHS doctors and nurses until rapidly deteriorating towards the latter part of August.
My brother flew over from Australia on 3rd September to be with him alongside my sister at dad’s home in Yorkshire. I eventually was able to travel by train from Scotland on 6th September to spend 4 unforgettable hours with him, together with my brother and sister. It was to be Dads last night and he passed away peacefully in his sleep at 7am the following morning. We were all with him at the end. A good man, a formal teacher of many and a passionate musician and choral singer who is dearly missed but will never be forgotten. Together with my dear mother once more xx❤️
It certainly is Brent. Thank you for your kind words. Best wishes to you in your health adventure. I have zero doubt that it will be a successful and regenerative journey.
I’m so glad you called an ambulance and got yourself in. My husband and I were partners on our local ambulance and we would get lots of people like you that don’t want to go. I’m glad they were good to you. They should be…grateful you’re getting better. Yes move closer to Brian…..🥰 take care of you….
Wow, I.am happy you got the help you needed before it was too late. I had a similar experience back in 2007 or so. It all started with a craving for salt n pepper potato chips. Then my mouth was sore, like for months. I actually asked the pharmacist what I could do for it and started using children's benadryl with maalox as a mouth wash for the pain. It did help. Then one day I was shoveling snow and got short of breath. Not something I was accustomed to. I knew to stop and rest, so that was good. Finally after around 6 moths of this I started having severe foot, toe, and leg cramps. Horrible cramps. As for the pepper, I was craving it like crazy. I cried if I couldn't get it. Turns out pepper is a good source of iron. I finally went to my doctor for the leg cramps. It was my birthday and 7pm when my doctor himself called me to tell me I had to go to the hospital. My hemoglobin was 6.8 at that point. He said I'd probably been living with it for a while and let me wait til the next morning to go to the hospital. I had 3 transfusions in the hospital and 10 iron infusions over 3 months. In the hospital I had an emergency EGD (sunday) and my stomach was covered with bleeding ulcers. I need periodic iron infusions now, as mine iron stores were depleted and our bodies don't make more. Our iron comes from our bone marrow, and once that is gone, it is gone. We have to supplement with iron in food and vitamins and infusions.
Anyway, I am an RN and should have known better. So at least you have that. :-p
Lakeland is about 2 hours from us in Keystone Heights, FL. You'll like the warm weather, but it rains a lot. And then there's the hurricane season! Good luck on your move.
We have ALL been praying for you Duane. So glad to hear you made it out of there with some good results and are in recovery. Will pray for a safe move to FL and continued growth in the Lord's wisdom. As a stubborn, independent, loner, I can certainly relate to your story. Thank you for sharing your tale of woe and warning! Hugs~
Thank you so much for sharing. Glad you are still with us and look forward to your great perspectives on things. Take care of yourself, unfortunately you might have to cut back on the bacon double cheeseburgers from Whataburger.
So glad that our prayers were answered! Blessings on a smooth transition to FL, and may the move open more doors for you both personally and professionally.
I’m sorry you had to go through this difficult situation, however, when a door is closed another often opens…in this case moving closer to Brian. The best thing is you’ve learned from this, your health restored and your common sense! That’s a very good thing for you, and for all your readers.
Praying for your return to complete good health and thankful that God via your healthcare workers saved your life as you are much appreciated.🙏🙏
Prayers answered brother. Thank you for sharing this small journey in your life.
I too am cursed with a “know it all” personality.
It hasn’t got me in trouble health wise but it has in other ways.
I’m constantly battling it and you’re right, it’s just pride.
As the Bible says, pride comes before the fall.
You made my day.
So glad you have recovered and that you are moving closer to Brian.
The “dynamic duo” will be together again.
Love that!
Blessings brother!
Yes! The dynamic duo will strike again! Thanking God you are feeling better!
I am so glad to read that you made it out of hospital OK, D. I prayed for you and kept looking for news so I'm very relieved to see this today.
I'm so sorry you're leaving us in Texas for Florida, but it's for good reasons and you'll be close to family. Florida is next best to Texas IMHO!
Bless you brother and I'm so happy to know that you're on the mend and still here with us to be writing great things!
Best wishes for a full recovery.
